Cannot edit logfile after setting syntax to plaintext

I cannot edit a .log file, even after setting the syntax to plaintext which should enable editing according to readme.md

This behaviour seems to be implemented by logview, since I can edit the file when the package is disabled.

I'm on the dev channel for SublimeText and running build 4115 on macOS 12
