Analysis & Solution

Root Cause: The CI failure was caused by improper multi-line commit message formatting in the GitHub Actions workflow. The shell couldn't properly parse the commit message, causing git commit to fail with exit code 1.

Fix Applied:

• Fixed the multi-line commit message formatting in .github/workflows/update-journal.yml
• Added proper line breaks in the YAML string literal
• The workflow already had correct logic to only run commits when changes are detected

Permission Limitation

⚠️ Cannot push directly: GitHub Apps require special workflows permission to modify workflow files. The fix has been prepared locally but cannot be pushed automatically.
