I just used this in a project and, superficially, it seems to work quite well.

Actually, I think there's a problem when a value is nullable. I have this type:

public record CellularDataUsage(UnitsNet.Information Remaining, UnitsNet.Information? Incremental, UnitsNet.Information Total);

And if incremental is ever null, that seems to cause exceptions when trying to deserialize.

When serializing, I sometimes(?) get a cycle exception:

I may be serializing incorrectly, but the same does work if the property is a double.

I would take again a look at this.

Now, there is also #966 by @akaegi which "fixes" what appears to be wrong here.

@angularsen should we close this PR and continue working in #966 or should I merge #996's changes here?

A single PR would do :-) If it's #905 or #966, doesn't matter to me.

For your information, there is also #907 that adds [DataContract] to quantities and it propose a new serialization schema to support both double and decimal with a single field.

FYI, #972 was merged.

Also, there was some discussion that reveals our current JSON schema is maybe not optimal.
ValueType and ValueString properties are likely not necessary in order to preserve decimal precision:
