Different approach to the original intent of #261 adding flags to simplecpp and invoke it with any of them in the Python tests. Still requires the Python integration. As I am not very good (and TBH not very fond in a lot of cases) with the parameterizing of tests I could use some help (CC @Tal500 as one of the Python test authors).

Since we do not run the unit tests via file inputs issues in those implementations might only detected as a drive-by.
