Summary of Changes

Hello @mboetger, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request significantly enhances the Android add-to-app documentation by introducing a comprehensive section on "Content-sized views." It explains how FlutterView can now dynamically adjust its dimensions based on its content, details the specific Flutter widgets that are incompatible with this feature due to sizing constraints, and provides a practical Dart code example to help developers test widget compatibility. This update aims to provide clearer guidance for integrating Flutter content into existing Android applications with flexible sizing requirements.

Highlights

  • Introduction of Content-Sized Flutter Views: Documentation has been added for a new feature allowing FlutterView instances in Android add-to-app scenarios to size themselves based on their content using content_wrap for height or width.
  • Restrictions for Content-Sized Views: The documentation outlines important restrictions, noting that widgets with unbounded sizes (like ListView) or those that defer to their children for sizing (like LayoutBuilder) are not supported for content-sized Flutter views.
  • Example for Testing Widget Compatibility: A Dart code example is provided, demonstrating how to use UnconstrainedBox to test whether a specific Flutter widget can cause issues when used within a content-sized view.

🧠 New Feature in Public Preview: You can now enable Memory to help Gemini Code Assist learn from your team's feedback. This makes future code reviews more consistent and personalized to your project's style. Click here to enable Memory in your admin console.

Code Review

This pull request adds valuable documentation for content-sized FlutterViews on Android. The new section explains the concept, its restrictions, and provides a code example for testing widget compatibility. My review includes a suggestion to fix several typos and grammatical errors in the introductory paragraph to improve clarity and readability. Overall, this is a great addition to the documentation.

This is great! Thanks so much, @mboetger! The example hasn't been updated yet, so I will go ahead and approve but not land.

Approved, but don't land until the Flutter sample (linked above) has landed.
